Volvo Ocean Race 2008

The Ericsson Racing Team, with two VO 70 boats, will get the down wind sail outfit made of Cuben Fiber fabrics. Design and production will be made by North Sails Sweden. These sails will be Q-Bonded for higher strength, and all the horizontal joints will be made with the mobile activation unit to save material handling time and staff. A gennaker to a VO 70 is made of some 800 panels and the approx 800 square meter sail fabric.
